Welcome to The Tradie Playbook (the “Site”). By using this Site you agree to these Terms of Use and the Disclaimer below. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Site. We may update these terms from time to time; the current version always lives on this page.
What this Site is (and isn’t)
The Tradie Playbook is a free, independent information resource for Australian apprentices and tradespeople. We take scattered, jargon-heavy information about payments, schemes, licences, tickets, tools, rights and trade life, and explain it in plain English. We are not a government body, a training organisation, a lender, an insurer, or a financial, legal or tax practice, and we are not affiliated with any of them.
Information only — not professional advice
Everything on this Site is general information only. It is not financial, legal, tax, migration, medical, safety or other professional advice, and it does not take into account your personal circumstances, objectives or needs. Nothing here creates a professional or advisory relationship between you and us.
Before you act on anything you read here, you should check the official source we link to and, where it matters, get advice from a licensed professional (for example an accountant, financial adviser, lawyer, or the relevant government department). Decisions you make are your own.
Accuracy and currency
Rules, rates, thresholds, fees and eligibility for apprentice payments, schemes, licences and tickets change often — many figures are indexed on 1 January and 1 July each year, and rules differ from state to state. We work hard to keep content current and we show a “last checked” date on our guides, but we do not warrant that any information is accurate, complete or up to date at the time you read it. Always confirm the details with the official source before relying on them.
Links to other websites
We link to government and third-party websites so you can go straight to the official source. We don’t control those sites and we aren’t responsible for their content, accuracy, availability or privacy practices. A link is not an endorsement.
Wellbeing content
Any wellbeing or mental-health information on this Site is for general awareness and signposting only. We are not a health or crisis service. If you or someone you know needs help now, call Triple Zero (000) in an emergency, Lifeline on 13 11 14, or MATES in Construction on 1300 642 111.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude all liability for any loss or damage (including indirect or consequential loss) arising from your use of, or reliance on, this Site or any information on it. This does not exclude or limit any rights or guarantees you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where our liability cannot be excluded but can be limited, our liability is limited to re-supplying the relevant information.
Your use of the Site
You may read, print and share our content for your own personal, non-commercial use. You must not republish substantial parts of the Site as your own, or use it in a way that is unlawful or that could damage the Site or other users.
Intellectual property

Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and the courts of Victoria have jurisdiction.
