Traffic control is a common entry point into construction and civil work — steady demand and you can start without a full trade. Here is how the ticket works.
What the training covers
There are generally two levels: controlling traffic (for example with a stop-slow bat) and implementing a traffic management plan. You complete accredited training through a registered provider, and the exact units and card names vary by state.
It is state-regulated
Traffic control is regulated by each state’s road or WHS authority, and the card or accreditation you need differs between states — what is accepted in one state may not automatically transfer to another. Always check your state road authority for the current requirement before you pay for a course.
Getting started
- Find an accredited provider in your state.
- Get your White Card too if you will be on construction sites.
General information only. Confirm the current ticket and rules with your state road/WHS authority.
